Award winning & nationally recognized for hospitality design

DLS Hotels & Spas is a multi-disciplinary Hospitality development firm, offering everything from Brand conceptualization and repositioning through to design and development, construction administration, turnkey installation, market strategy and new product launch.

Our Philosophy is simple…
Innovative design solutions drive rates and top-line revenue. We approach each project from the owner and operators’ perspective...analyzing how our decisions and selections best create product differentiation, attract the target market segment, and create an exceptional experience for the guest.
Experiential spaces generate marketing opportunities.

Our design and development solutions are calculated to elicit an emotional response, a visceral reaction that drives the guests to extend stays, book treatments, spread the word, and return.

DLS has most recently completed Hotel Yountville, (soft opening, December 2010) previously an independently managed, limited service property with 50 rooms, the ownership commissioned DLS to completely re-position the asset to a five star, full-service resort. This entailed a multi-phased complete guest-room and public space renovation, as well as the addition of a restaurant, conference center, additional guest rooms and full-service spa facility.

DLS is also well known for being the owners, operators and design firm responsible for the remarkable transformation of Milliken Creek Inn & Spa, in Napa, California. Milliken Creek was unique, in that Lisa, along with her partners in DLS, re-positioned, designed, owned and operated the hotel and spa, selling the property in 2006 for a record-setting per-key price.

While at John Portman & Associates, Lisa worked on multiple Marriott brand products, including the flagship Marquis properties in Times Square and Atlanta, and the JW Marriott Union Square.

As a senior interior architect with John Portman & Associates, Lisa collaborated on multiple Hyatt properties, including Grand Hyatt Embarcadero, Hyatt Regency Atlanta, and Jakarta.

A typical deco movie palace from the 30’s, the Uptown Theater had been shuttered for a decade when a new owner approached Lisa to renovate and restore the building to its’ former glory.  After nearly 8 years of painstaking restoration, the project has re-opened as an 850 seat live music venue.

Developed by David Shapiro, The Art of Travel, located in Los Angeles, became the early model for Virtuoso, and the newer generation of customized luxury travel agencies, by specializing in regional expertise and “lifestyle” travel experiences.

Forecasting the “day spa” trend, Total Wellness Spa, located in Los Angeles, was a seven thousand square foot multi-disciplinary wellness center and day spa, complete with thirteen full-service spa treatment rooms, yoga studio, chiropractic/OMD offices, and a generous retail store. The project’s overwhelming success derived from David’s understanding of the need to reposition and rebrand “wellness” to a new demographic.

Currently in development, Saravendi Spas is a collection of urban private spas that will be located in major U.S. cities. Envisioned as a game-changer for the day spa industry, the Saravendi Spa utilizes the latest environmental technologies, combining them with advanced body therapies into transportive experiences that create a complete escape for the body, mind and spirit.

As a direct result of guest experiences in hotels she has designed, Lisa has been commissioned to do numerous residential projects throughout the U.S.

National headquarters for the USA division, the 29-story building is the centerpiece of the Coca Cola campus in Atlanta, Georgia. As a senior interior architect on the project, Lisa Holt created multiple award-winning products for use in domestic and international commercial and hospitality developments.
